Technology transfer is the process of using technology, expertise, know-how or facilities for a purpose for which they were not originally intended. It implies that a technology developed for one sector can be used in a totally different area. The transfer process consists of extracting and marketing suitable space technologies, services and applications. This is done by analysing the needs of non-space applications and identifying suitable space technologies to meet these needs.
