The stars have no glass ceilings: D/HSF celebrates the International Women’s day
 
10 March 2011   ESA Director of Human Spaceflight was invited to one of the many ceremonies held in Europe focusing on inspiring female role models on occasion of the International Women’s day. Di Pippo was invited by the President of the Region of Lazio, in Italy, to present her testimony of a successful female leadership.
Germany celebrates Johannes Kepler successful docking in Berlin
 
4 March 2011   ATV-2 Johannes Kepler docked to the International Space Station on 24 February. A live transmission organised by DLR in cooperation with ESA took place in the Wissenschaftsforum in Berlin, Germany. The event was attended by media, parliamentarians, space agencies representatives, industry and general public.
Simonetta Di Pippo receives prestigious San Valentino d’Oro award
 
25 February 2011   Simonetta Di Pippo, ESA Director of Human Spaceflight, has received the San Valentino d’Oro international award for her "dedication, commitment and love for her profession", in a ceremony that took place on 26 February in Terni, Italy.
