How to do business with ESA

90% of ESA budget is spent on contracts with industry. This amounts to approximately 1000 contracts being placed with European and Canadian companies every year. Equal opportunities and fairness are guaranteed by a common set of rules and procedures to be followed both by companies and the Agency.

"How to do business with ESA" was first published as a brochure in 1994, and aimed at presenting in its totality the European Space Agency's (ESA) procurement system in a narrative and coherent way that is readily understood by those not directly aware of the system.

Such an account has proved to be of a considerable use to industry and institutions working in the space sector, and also to Delegates to the various ESA committees, ministries in the Member States, and other.

While still containing the accurate condensation of a multitude of rules, regolations and practical applications this new web based version also reflects the profound changes which have been implemented in ESA as a consequence of the rapid transformations which have affected the space community in the last years.

The authors of this revised version are convinced as their precedessors were at the time of its first pubblication that "the final result will give all readers much useful information, and a good understanding of how the European Space Agency prepares and implements its procurement activities".

For those who already, or intend to do business with ESA, it is essential reading.
