Through a recently released ESA Announcement of Opportunity, ESA's Directorate for Human Spaceflight invites scientists to propose new research projects in the areas of Life and Physical Sciences.

The projects can make use the following research platforms and facilities, available through ESA:

  • European missions to the International Space Station
  • Foton/Bion spacecraft
  • Sounding rockets
  • Parabolic flight campaigns
  • Ground-based facilities

Potential investigators are requested to submit a non-binding Notice of Interest by 31 August 2004. Research proposals must be submitted by 12 November 2004.

To help scientists find their way though the proposal process, a workshop will be held on 13 September 2004 in the Erasmus User Centre at ESTEC in Noordwijk, The Netherlands.
