Galileo Engineering Tool Environment(ETE)

The Engineering Tool Environment (ETE) is a key element for the Galileo Ground Mission Segment (GMS) design & verification activities and in particular for the following objectives:
  • GMS algorithm design,
  • GMS algorithm performance assessment,
  • Support to Element & GMS AIV,
  • GMS algorithm performance verification & qualification.
The purpose of the Engineering Tool environment (ETE) is therefore to provide a set of tools representative of the GMS actual elements and environment so as to provide a representative simulation & design platform. The ETE implements the following major functions:
  • Generation of simulated GSS (Ground Sensor Station) Raw data,
  • Exercise of the GMS performance algorithm prototypes (OSPF, IPF, OAT),
  • GSS Raw data & Algorithm prototypes performance analysis,
  • Data configuration management.
The ETE includes the following algorithm prototypes (E- experimental) :
  • E-OSPF (Orbit & Synchronisation platform), prototype of the OSPF element algorithm,
  • E-IPF (Integrity Platform), prototype of the IPF element algorithm,
  • E-OAT (Orbit Assessment Tool), prototype of MSF (Mission Support Facility) element algorithm.
The RDG (Raw Data Generator) component, inside the ETE, will allow to generate raw data as ETE input. The E-PAT (Performance Assessment Tool), early issue of the PAT tools included in the Galileo MCF(Mission Control Facility) element, allows the analysis of either the RDG data, either the algorithm prototype results. The E-DSF component is in charge of data management inside the ETE, process scheduling and monitoring.
