Various composite technology studies are followed by the Structures Section. An example is the Development of a methodology to address de-laminations in composite structures. Prime contractor: HPS (Portugal)

Guidelines are prepared for different analysis methods:
  1. Level 1: prediction of de-lamination stability by application of a Crack Tip Element (CTE)
  2. Level 2: prediction of de-lamination stability by application of the Virtual Crack Closure Technique(VCCT)
  3. Level 3: prediction of de-lamination stability by application of Cohesive Finite Elements
  4. These are complemented by more simple, conservative, methods to help avoid detailed (and costly) finite element analyses.
