Thermal Concept Design Tool

The Thermal Concept Design Tool (TCDT) is an analysis manager and thermal calculator that is optimised for multidisciplinary data exchange and pre-phase A activities. It is a Microsoft Excel add-in that provides high level functionalities to define geometry, missions, models and analyses, with the possibility to perform rapid design tasks, worst cases identification, parametric/stochastic analyses and graphical post-processing of results. The TCDT can interface with the other thermal analysis softwares: ESARAD, ThermXL and ESATAN.

A set of thermal related functions are implemented and can be used directly in the Excel sheets or with simple graphical user interfaces. The integration of the TCDT in the Excel environment makes the same model data available for definition, analysis and documentation.

Availability and downloads

The TCDT is an ESA product that is maintained and distributed by Blue Engineering on behalf of ESA. It is available free of charge for users who fulfil the ESA distribution policy. Further details and download information can be found on the official TCDT website.
