The highest-ever resolution global nitrogen dioxide pollution map has been produced using data from Envisat's SCIAMACHY atmospheric instrument. The team at the University of Heidelberg's Institute for Environmental Physics explain how the map was created, how SCIAMACHY works and what else it can tell us about the state of our air.
