ESA Member States approve full and open Sentinel data policy principles   ESA's Sentinel-1 is the first Earth observation satellite to be built for Europe's Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) programme.   Sentinel-2 will provide systematic global acquisitions of high-resolution multispectral imagery for Europe's Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) programme.
