The ESA-led Medspiration project uses satellite sensors to measure sea surface temperature across the Mediterranean, with an unprecedented spatial resolution of two square kilometres, high enough to detect detailed features like eddies, fronts and plumes within the surface temperature distribution. A new heat map is made available daily.
