Article Images Medical research on ice   The Concordia Station is a scientific base built in Antarctica by the French Polar Institute (IPEV) and the Italian Antarctic Programme (PNRA) Long-Term Medical Survey     To facilitate the collection of physiological data, ESA commissioned the development of an easy-to-use, minimally intrusive, integrated monitoring device, taking into account that the majority of Concordia crewmembers have no medical background. The device is called LTMS (Long-Term Medical Survey System) and the version used now is 3; the photo shows version 2. Release date: 14 October 2008
