49th ESA Parabolic Flight Campaign

ESA's 49th Parabolic Flight Campaign took to the skies recently with three flights over the Bay of Biscay. A suite of 14 microgravity experiments flew on board the specially adapted Airbus A300 'Zero-G' aircraft.

Video data is collected for some experiments (Flight day 2)
For safety, the walls and floor of the cabin and all edges of the experiment hardware are cushioned
Experiments are closely monitored throughout the flight
Each flight day gives the experimenters a chance to test different subjects and gather more data
Safety personnel is always on hand to lend a helping hand
The PK-4 plasma crystal experiment is being prepared for flight to the International Space Station
