Mount Alutu is a volcano in central Ethiopia. This InSAR image shows a pulse of uplift in 2008. The image, created using data from ESA’s Envisat satellite, is draped over a digital elevation model. Each complete colour cycle (fringe) represents 2.8 cm of displacement toward the satellite.
