The Earth Explorer Atmospheric Dynamics Mission (ADM-Aeolus) will provide global observations of wind profiles from space to improve the quality of weather forecasts, and to advance our understanding of atmospheric dynamics and climate processes.
26 August 2009 As part of the preparatory activities for the Aeolus mission, the German Aerospace Centre DLR performed a campaign on Germany’s highest mountain, the Zugspitze. The clean mountain air was needed to provide the right conditions to investigate what effects the atmosphere would have on the return signal of the satellite's core instrument.
1 October 2007 ESA is pleased to announce the release of an Announcement of Opportunity (AO), which aims exclusively at calibration and validation activities in support of the ADM-Aeolus mission.
