The main objective of Earth Observation Campaigns is to provide support for the preparation of future space programmes and their users. The programme of campaign activities includes support for experiments related to atmospheric dynamics, atmospheric chemistry, coasts and oceans, ice and the land.

28 October 2009   With the launch of ESA’s Earth Explorer SMOS satellite just a few days away, the Helsinki University of Technology has been celebrating and reflecting on the contribution they and Finnish industry have made to SMOS. Together, their efforts proved fundamental to the consolidation of the mission concept.

ESA campaign reveals glimpse of future Sentinel-3 imagery
 
9 September 2009   As part of the development process for ESA’s Sentinel-3 Earth observation mission, remote-sensing experts carried out an extensive experiment campaign across southern Europe this summer. The results provide valuable insight into the imagery the mission will deliver after it is launched in 2013.
