Three candidate Earth Explorer Core missions are currently undergoing Feasibility Study (Phase A). One of these missions will eventually be selected for implementation and thus lead to the launch of ESA's seventh Earth Explorer mission around 2016.

Lapland campaign offers new insight into snow
 
8 April 2011   A campaign recently carried out in Finland has yielded the first images of snow using an airborne radar that operates at the same wavelengths proposed for ESA's CoReH2O satellite.

ESA calls for Earth Explorer-8 Mission Advisory Group members
 
15 February 2011   Following the selection of the CarbonSat and FLEX candidate Earth Explorers to enter Phase-A/B1, ESA is setting up a Mission Advisory Group for each mission. Scientists from the Earth science community are now invited to apply for membership.
