GOCE User Workshop ‘GOCE the Geoid and Oceanography’ to be held in March 2004

25 August 2003
It has recently been announced that ESA is organising its second international GOCE Workshop ‘GOCE the Geoid and Oceanography’, which will be held at ESA-ESRIN in Frascati, Italy on 8-10 March 2004.

GOCE (Gravity Field and Steady-State Ocean Circulation Explorer) is the first Core Earth Explorer satellite to be developed as part of ESA’s Living Planet Programme and is scheduled for launch in 2006. The mission is dedicated to measuring the Earth’s gravity field and modelling the geoid, with unprecedented accuracy and resolution. Data from GOCE is envisaged to advance areas of oceanography, solid-Earth physics, geodesy and climate change research.

The workshop is open to all with an interest in exploiting GOCE gravity data products. For more information and registration details please see 2nd International GOCE User Workshop.
