GIOVE-B leaves ESTEC en-route to Baikonur
GIOVE-B, the second Galileo in-orbit validation satellite, has departed from ESTEC, ESA's European Research and Technology Centre in The Netherlands, on the first leg of its journey to the launch site at Baikonur, in Kazakhstan.
The spacecraft travelled by road to Amsterdam's Schiphol airport, from where it was flown to Moscow in an Antonov
After being developed and manufactured by an industrial consortium led by Astrium GmbH, GIOVE-B successfully completed a final campaign of tests in the Test Centre at ESTEC.
