11 December 2002   Satellites, televisions, radios, mobile phone and computers are now being used to improve health services and to make the best use of valuable medical services.

ESA, WHO, ITU and the Information Society Technologies programme of the European Commission, are now working together within the Telemedicine Alliance to smooth the way for the expansion of telemedicine, and its benefits, to all of Europe's citizens.

11 February 2003   To refine telemedicine via satellite development in line with key healthcare priorities, the European Space Agency (ESA) is organising a telemedicine symposium, ‘Telemedicine via Satellite in the Information Society’, to be held at ESRIN, Frascati, Italy.
