Past projects

Peer to peer computing

The aim of this project is to investigate and develop global optimisation algorithms in networks without a central management, e.g. peer-to-peer networks.

Validated ODE solving

Several space related problems can be formulated as ordinary differential equations. ACT investigates self validated integration methods based on interval mathematics to obtain reliable results in a number of space applications.

Collaborative working environments

ACT has started to test Web 2.0 technologies as working methods in ESA.

ACT-DC

A distributed computing environment has been developed which uses the idle time of the ESA computers. The system is capable of dealing with a wide range of computationally hard problems.

Distributed Computing for Ionospheric Data Processing

Performance of NeQuick ionospheric predictions compared with different ionospheric data. This was a joint project with the ESA TEC-ETT department.
