GTOP Database: Global Optimisation Trajectory Problems and Solutions

GTOP Database - MGA problems

GOTP is a database containing the exact definition of some global optimisation spacecraft trajectory problems and their best putative solutions.

The MGA Global Optimisation Problem

Should any research group find better solution than the ones reported here, they are encouraged to submit them to us () with a short description of the method, so that we can update the web site.

Problem "Cassini1"

This problem instance optimises the DV required to reach Saturn using an Earth Venus Venus Jupiter Saturn fly-by sequence.

Problem "GTOC1": Mission Inspired by the Problem of the 1st edition of the Global Trajectory Optimisation Competition (GTOC1)

This problem instance optimises the generic trajectory of the type Earth-Venus-Earth-Venus-Earth-Jupiter-Saturn-TW229 on the basis of the objective function proposed in 1st edition of the Global Trajectory Optimisation Competition (GTOC1). The spacecraft considered here is different from that of the competition as it is not capable of low-thrust propulsion, but only of chemical propulsion.
