Marlies Arnhof

I graduated from Vienna University of Technology with a MSc in Architecture. During my master's I specialized in architecture for extreme environments. For my paper "Design of a Human Settlement on Mars Using In-Situ Resources" I received the "Best Student Paper 2016" Award from the Space Architecture Technical Committee (SATC) of the American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics (AIAA). Before joining the Advanced Concepts Team in 2017, I started working on my PhD during which it is my aim to investigate user-architecture-technology interaction in habitats for extreme environments.

At the ACT my main research interests are in-situ resource utilization for construction on the lunar and planetary surfaces and user-architecture-technology interaction in isolated, confined, extreme (ICE) environment research-bases.

Outside of my research interests I enjoy running, playing music, hiking and travelling.
