Four teams of university students were selected to develop and perform their hypergravity experiments during ESA's Spin your Thesis! 2015 campaign.

Drilling in granular material using ultrasonic vibration in hypergravity conditions

The Dynamics team is composed of two PhD and one Master student from the University of Glasgow. Their goal is to determine the effect of gravity on drilling in granular material. In this experiment the team will study the conditions of ultrasonic vibration required to penetrate gra

Influence of hypergravity on the interaction of medicine solutions

The HyperMed team is composed of two PhD students and one master student from the University of Bucharest. The aim of the experiment is to investigate the interaction of non-irradiated and laser irradiated medicine solutions with different target surfaces under hypergravity conditions.

Study on the effects of hypergravity on action potentials propagation and trap closure movement in Venus flytrap

The LINVenus team is composed of three PhD students from the University of Florence. The team aims to study the propagation of Action Potentials (APs) and the closure movement of Dionaea muscipula (or Venus flytrap) plants in hypergravity.

The effect of hypergravity on microbial heat resistance and motility

The Microbiology And Hygiene (MAH) team is composed of three PhD candidates from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The team aims to study the effect of hypergravity on the microbial heat resistance and motility behavior.
