Gascogne meteorological buoy maintained by Meteo France at 45.2°N, 5°W. Both the Gascogne buoy and the Brittany buoy (maintained by Meteo France and UKMO (United Kingdom Meteorological Office) at 47.5°N, 8.5°W) are equipped with two meteorological stations that measure atmospheric pressure, air and sea surface temperature, wind speed and direction, humidity and waves parameters every hour. Data are transmitted in real time on GTS (Global Telecommmunication System). Measurements from the two buoys will be used to interpret CoSMOS radiometric measurements.
