The Global Space Markets Challenge pre-selection committee has established two longlists for the competition’s upstream and downstream categories.

By 10 September, 12 finalists – six from each category – will be invited to pitch their internationalisation plans to delegates in the Industrial Policy Evolution Working Group.

The six best-placed applicants will be nominated as winners to ESA’s Director General Josef Aschbacher who will grant the competition awards: three in the upstream category, and three in the downstream category.

The Global Space Markets Challenge is intended to be a springboard into international markets for small promising space-based companies in Europe and Canada, specialised in upstream and downstream activities. ESA, in line with its Agenda 2025, has set up this competition to grow and support European space-based businesses by improving their visibility and worldwide competitiveness to help them be part of opportunities in the global space market.
