The ESOC Theatre Group will perform "Dancing at Lughnasa" by Brian Friel on 27, 28 and 29 November 2008 at the Alte Schalthaus in Darmstadt. Tickets will be available in the ESOC Canteen early in November. Tickets are also available online (see link below).

Dancing at Lughnasa tells the story of a boy growing up in Ballybeg, in rural Ireland, as told by the boy looking back from adulthood. The play happens in the summer of 1936, when the boy lived with his mother, her four sisters and one brother, a Catholic priest.

The cast includes several newcomers, and the ESOC Theatre Group is looking forward to an excellent run after a two-year hiatus, due primarily to the hectic satellite launch schedule at ESOC and EUMETSAT and the loss of the long-time club's venue at the Performing Arts Center, which closed in 2006 for the departure of the US garrison from Darmstadt.
