To promote the use of space technologies, a Permanent Open Call System for Technology Transfer Feasibility Study Proposals has recently been opened.

The Call allows both space and non-space organisations as well as individuals to submit proposals for studies to assess the feasibility of a possible transfer of a technology from a space donor to a non-space receiver. Such feasibility study aims to determine the possibilities as well as the limitations and technical barriers and ways of overcoming them, when adapting or integrating a space technology into a non-space application.

Experts wanted!

In parallel to the call, an Invitation to Tender (ITT) has been issued for experts with the expertise to carry out those studies. The objective of this ITT is to constitute a pool of experts among which competitive tenders will be run to conduct the feasibility studies selected under the Call. Expert organisations are hereby invited to submit an application in order to express their interest in being part of the pool. The modalities and the extent of the support provided are negotiated on a case-to-case basis. As a general rule the financial support granted to one study will not exceed EUR 30,000.

MST-Aerospace GmbH has been entrusted by the European Space Agency (Technology Transfer Programme Office) with the setting-up, administration and implementation of the Permanent Open Call as well as the ITT. MST acts as a prime contractor of the Agency in the field of technology transfer from space and manages a European network of technology experts and brokers for the exploitation of space technologies in different branches.
