ESA Astronaut Andreas Mogensen ISS Mission - pre-launch TV coverage

Selected as an ESA astronaut in May 2009, Andreas Mogensen will be the first Dane in Space. He completed basic training by Nov 2010 and in Aug 2013 was assigned to a 10-day mission to the International Space Station. He will lift off from the Baikonur cosmodrome on 2 September on the Soyuz TMA-18M capsule.  He is currently completing his training at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre, Star City outside Moscow, where he just passed his final exams for the Soyuz spacecraft and the Russian segment of ISS.

During the period between now and launch, we will post highlights of key events on the ESA TV ftp server as follows:

7 Aug: Final exams and soundbites from prime and back-up crew members (already posted – Mogensen in Danish and English and Thomas Pesquet in French and English)

10 Aug: State Commission readiness review at Star City/press conference/Kremlin visit (1800GMT)

18 Aug: Farewell breakfast at Star City and departure from Chkalovsky airport (1400GMT)

26 Aug: Arrival and welcome at Baikonur/flag raising/first fit-check/ceremonial activities (1530GMT)

28 Aug: 2nd fit-check and Soyuz encapsulation (1400GMT)

31 Aug: Soyuz mating to launcher/roll-out to pad and rotation/soundbites with management (1400GMT)

! Sep: Final State Commission sign-off for launch/crew news conference (1400GMT)

The times shown are indicative times by which we expect files to be available on our ftp server.

Launch is scheduled on Weds 2 Sept. It will be subject of another mailing but for initial information:

Docking and ingress to ISS (and first crew event) are scheduled on Friday 4 Sept. There will be a further mailing following launch but for initial information:

Docking coverage start: 0725 GMT. Docking at: 0742 GMT. Docking coverage end: 0750 GMT

Ingress coverage start: 0955 GMT. Hatch opening and family event with crew: 1015-1045 GMT.
