This activity provides a step-by-step guide for how to create an origami hexagon. The activity is linked to James Webb Space Telescope’s primary mirror which is composed of 18 tessellating hexagons. Students can work individually or in groups to fold the hexagons, then attach them together to create a complete representation of the telescope’s primary mirror.
