On Tuesday 12 January, ESA's Director General, Antonio Rodotà, will meet the media at ESA Head Office in Paris for a press breakfast starting at 8:30 am, to talk about the events planned for the new year.
This year will see the construction of the International Space Station, numerous launches by Ariane-4 and Ariane-5, and the completion of several spacecraft to be launched in 2000 and beyond. In May the ESA Member State ministers responsible for space activities will gather at a Council meeting in Brussels to take the necessary decisions to secure Europe's crucial position in space activities.
