AIDA at EGU 2016
In a press conference at the European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly 2016 on Wednesday 20 April, Ian Carnelli (ESA), Michael Kueppers (ESA), Patrick Michel (OCA), and Andy Cheng (JHU/APL) presented the main objectives of the Asteroid Impact and Deflection Assessment mission and talked about the latest results from the European (AIM) and the US (DART) researchers.

Novel techniques to measure the mass of Didymoon (called Wobble measurement) were shown.
The video presented was made from computer simulations carried out by B. Grieger, AIM payload operations expert at ESA.
Based on the landmark navigation it was also possible to reconstruct the AIM flyby trajectory.
An in-depth clarification of how the landing of MASCOT-2 would proceed was also presented.
The speakers showed the first-ever high-fidelity simulations of the ejecta cloud that would be generated by DART impact.
