Exercise 2: Find weather boundaries


Make a screen dump of the RGB image.

Try to draw lines dividing Europe into areas with the same cloud pattern.

Look at the temperatures on the image and try to draw temperature isolines (lines through points with the same temperature range).
 
 

1. Describe the pattern shown by the temperature isolines.

2. Are there other weather elements which have a distribution with a similar pattern?

3. How is the temperature boundary reflected in the cloud pattern you see in the Meteosat IR 10.8 µm image? Refer to the cloud pattern with the lines you drew above.
