ITU-T SG-16 Meeting, 20-30 January 2004

Within the TMA Project, and under the aegis of the ITU both the Telecommunications Standardization Bureau (TSB) and Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT organized a seminar on e-health standardization in May 2003 in Geneva, Switzerland where two milestone decisions were endorsed: a) agreement to propose a new study question for e-health standardization within ITU-T Study Group 16 (SG-16, and its Rapporteur Mr. Vicente Traver from Spain identified; b) agreement to create e-Health Standardization Coordination Group amongst standards development organizations and entities.
 
The draft text of the above-mentioned new Study Question J/16 was circulated for comments and submitted for consideration at the ITU-T SG-16 Meeting, 20-30 January 2004, held in Geneva. By applying the normal approval procedure the Study Group ITU-T SG-16, at its Closing Plenary, has approved the new question: J/16: Multimedia framework for e-health applications. The experts confirmed the tasks and work plan in the text of the question and for such agreed to: 1) arrange a meeting of the E-health Standardization Coordination Group (eHSCG) and promotional activities during Med-e-Tel 2004 in Luxemburg, 21-23 April 2004, and 2) organize the Structure for contents on the web page for Q J/16.
