Next 27 March a Soyuz launcher will send into orbit 2 Galileo satellites from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana. They are the 7th and 8th spacecraft for the Galileo system.

Last August Satellites 5 and 6 were sent on the wrong orbit but they are now being recovered and we will know soon if they can be used, at least partially.

Indeed after the successful in orbit validation phase of the first four Galileo satellites, ESA continues the deployment of the remaining satellites needed for the full constellation of 30 satellites.

With this first public global satellite navigation system Europe will provide a full range of  services and applications useful for citizens in Europe and beyond in many different areas. .

This video shows the variety of services and applications that Galileo is offering.
