Synopsis:
Today, the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) mission
celebrates ten years of studying our sun. NASA and it partner, the
European Space Agency (ESA), can claim stunning achievements in
imaging the interior of the sun, improving space weather
forecasting and studying the solar wind and sun spots. Most
importantly, SOHO has also delivered the first detailed visual
recording of one full sun-cycle
ITEM 1) SOHO'S TEN-YEAR TRIUMPH IN UNMASKING THE SUN
Slug: SOHO Science in a Shell. Even after ten years, the sun
still holds many mysteries. With SOHO, scientists have been able
to study the internal structure of the sun, its extensive outer
atmosphere, solar wind, gas tornadoes, and ""sun quakes."" It can
also look right through the sun to detect sunspots on the far side -
before they rotate toward and threaten Earth.

ITEM 2) SOHO'S TEN-YEAR TRIUMPH IN UNMASKING THE SUN
Slug: One Amazing Solar Cycle. Earth's cycle is one calendar year
long, but a solar cycle takes 11 years and is signified by highs
and lows in the number of sunspots, coronal mass ejections (CMEs),
solar flares, and other activity. SOHO is the first mission to
track an entire cycle of activity. The audio included is the sound
of the sun: solar frequenci
