Four Futures for Human Spaceflight
All known justifications for human space flight arise from one of four core objectives. Each opens a very different space future for humankind, and would guide our big technology investments in very different directions. Yet since Apollo, NASA has persisted in pursuing just one of them. Is there an important conversation we’re not having? How might the four alternative futures be reconciled?
