Olaf Sikorski
I am a Young Graduate Trainee working on bio-inspired technology also known as biomimetics.
In 2019 I have graduate from Imperial College London with a Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering and joined the ACT after a well-deserved summer break in October. Always one foot in the electrical department, I have mostly worked with electronics and wrote my Master thesis on mimicking neural dynamics in CMOS analogue circuits. My research interests revolve around neuromorphological computing and computational neuroscience, but I am a keen observer of recent developments in other areas of science, in particular synthetic biology and genetic engineering. In the ACT I am working on the event-based camera project.
Outside the ACT, a state know as "the free time", I practice ballroom dancing, both Standard and Latin styles, and play the guitar. Sadly, the Netherlands is too flat and rainy for my longest hobby: skiing.
