A Day in Space - Paxi's Cosmic Art Contest
Hey Earthlings! Welcome to Paxi’s Cosmic Art Contest!
This month, I’m taking you on a little adventure through a day in the life of astronaut Sophie Adenot!
Being an astronaut isn’t just about floating around and doing cool experiments in microgravity. Astronauts also have to keep the space station safe, healthy, and ready for action. Sophie is often busy checking on important parts both inside the station and recently, she even helped from the outside, in space!
That’s right, we’re talking about Spacewalks! Sophie completed her first one in August and went back for a second outing just a week later. What an incredible human being!
But spacewalks are just a small part of Sophie’s busy life in orbit! She’s travelled around Earth thousands of times, carried out hundreds of hours of scientific research, and has taken thousands of photographs from space. She’s been exercising 2 hours every day, completed all sorts of daily jobs to keep the space station running smoothly, and so much more!
So now that you know about Sophie’s time on the ISS, what would “Your Day in Space” be like? Show me your wildest weightless wishes!
What would you want to experiment with on the space station? Do you think you would take as many pictures as Sophie, or would you even do your own spacewalk?
