The figures shows the European upstream space employment (including Canada) by country over the period 2012 to 2014. Data was sourced from ASD-Eurospace 2015, national reports and estimations.
In Europe, the total direct employment of the space manufacturers has reached an historic level slightly above 38,000 in 2014, up 6% from 2013 and confirming that despite the economic downturn, the European space manufacturing segment has been able to maintain the creation of highly qualified jobs. Note that these estimates do not capture the downstream space industry such as services and applications.
