Internship with ESA’s Academy Training and Learning Programme
The ESA Education Office is looking for highly motivated and skilled university students for a six‐month internship at the ESA REDU Centre in Belgium, to support the ESA’s Academy Training and Learning Programme.
Since March 2016, the ESA Academy has provided a new perspective on the learning of space disciplines. The ESA Academy brings together existing and new elements of the ESA Education Programme for universities through two interconnected pillars:
- Hands‐on Space Projects, an existing programme that enables students to gain first‐hand experience of real space‐related projects.
- Training and Learning Programme, a new initiative offering an entirely new set of courses and learning opportunities.
Internship: e‐learning for the ESA Academy
Main work responsibilities:
The intern will support the development of e‐learning activities for the ESA Academy:
- shoot training courses offered in ESA Academy’s Training and Learning Centre
- create educational videos, storyboards and multimedia animations
- develop a e‐learning platform.
Desired qualifications and skills:
- be enrolled on a Masters course
- a background in either an engineering or scientific field of study or in media/creative design
- have interest and/or experience in the education and communication field
- have experience with video and audio recording hardware and software
- knowledge in e‐learning platforms would be an asset
- have good interpersonal and communication skills and should be able to work in a multi‐cultural environment, both independently and as part of a team
- be fluent in English and/or French. A good proficiency in English is required.
Terms and conditions
- full‐time internship 5 days per week
- €20 daily allowance (€600/month if living more than 50 km from REDU)
- duty station is ESA REDU Centre in Belgium
- duration of the internship is ideally 6 months
- earliest start date: 1 February 2017 (other dates also available later in the year)
- student must be a citizen of an ESA member or cooperating state in order to be eligible.
