National Workshops and Conferences
In light of its primary objective of promoting and encouraging the development of space law, the ECSL is keen to organise and/or sponsor conferences and workshops. Since its creation, the ECSL has been active in participating in conferences and workshops focusing on different areas of law and policy such as remote sensing data and intellectual property rights in outer space. In addition to these events, the ECSL is keen to continue co-organising events with its network of National Points of Contact.
Arctic Space and Technology Summit - 9 May 2017
The ECSL was pleased to be a sponsor of and participate in the Arctic Space and Technology Summit on 9 May 2017 in Helsinki, Finland. Planetary Defence Evening Event - Austrian NPOC
The Austrian NPOC is organising an evening event on the theme of Planetary Defence: Technical, Legal and Economic Aspects. The event will be held from 19.00 - 21.30pm on 2 February 2017 at the Natural History Museum in Vienna.

Space Law and Policy Seminar - Norway - 17 February 2017
The NPOC for Norway - the Norwegian Space Centre - together with ECSL will be organising a legal and policy workshop which will take place on 17 February 2017 at the offices of the Norwegian Space Centre in Oslo, Norway.
The purpose of this seminar is to highlight some of the legal and policy elements pertaining to space missions, in particular satellite missions, by providing an opportunity for industry, academia, government and other interested stakeholders to exchange and engage. Topics addressed will range from how space activities are governed in Europe and internationally, space law and, specifically, the legal and regulatory aspects which arise during the life cycle of a satellite mission: launch, in-orbit and end-of-life.
