    ESA Spacecraft Operations site update

    9 October 2007

Our Spacecraft Operations site has been updated with new content, cool animations and links to mission control, ground stations, the Cebreros webcam and our popular, live 'Spacecraft Tracker' gadget.

The Spacecraft Operations site provides in-depth news and information on mission operations and ground control activities for current missions such as Mars Express, Venus Express and Envisat, as well as details on ESA's worldwide network of ground stations.

Newly added content also covers new missions now in preparation, including observatory missions like Herschel-Planck and LISA Pathfinder, and Earth-observation missions including CryoSat-2, GOCE and GMES.

The site also provides full links to:

    • Individual ESTRACK ground tracking stations, including their locations in Google Maps
    • Webcam showing DSA 2, the ESTRACK 35m deep-space tracking terminal at Cebreros, Spain
    • ESA's 'Spacecraft Tracker' gadget, giving real-time locations of ESA near-Earth missions
    • The new "Where missions Come Alive" video profiling the intense activities at ESA's Space Operations Centre

The site links to in-depth information on new technologies used in ESA ground stations, the latest mission updates, a convenient 'Mission finder' and much more!
