ESA at FIA 2022 - The week in images: photo highlights from Farnborough International Airshow (FIA), a global aerospace event held in July 2022 in the UK. The airshow is one of the world’s largest aerospace trade shows.
Key focus areas at Farnborough this year were the crucial role of space in driving sustainability and safety, the European future of human and robotic exploration and the deployment of hybrid 5G and satellite communications networks (promoted by ESA in its UK site ECSAT).
In addition, during the Farnborough International Airshow, ESA signed a contract with Leonardo to design, manufacture, integrate and test the Sample Transfer Arm for the Mars Sample Return programme.
