Giuseppe Morsillo
Director of PPC
Giuseppe Morsillo took up duty as ESA Director for ESA Policies, Planning and Control (D/PPC) on 1 April 2011.
Giuseppe Morsillo has 27 years of experience in international environments, operating in production, engineering, programme management, marketing and sales, procurement, strategic marketing, strategic planning and control, national and international relations, mainly in the space sector but also in the aeronautics and defence sectors, in industry as well as in governmental and intergovernmental agencies.
He graduated with honours in Electrical Engineering in 1983 from the Polytechnic of Naples, Italy. From 1983 to 2000, he held several positions in various aerospace companies of Finmeccanica, the last being Head of Civil Marketing of Alenia Aerospazio Space Division.
In 2001, he joined the Italian space agency ASI, where he served in various positions, the last being Head of Strategy & National and International Relations, while also being Chairman of ELV and Italian delegate to the ESA Council.
In 2005, he joined ESA as Head of the Director General’s Policy Office, in charge of coordination with Member States and EU institutions, strategic planning and control, security strategy, management of future studies and advanced concepts.
The new Directorate for ESA Policies, Planning and Control will define ESA policies and consolidate resources planning and control at corporate level.
