The Vehicle Equipment Bay (VEB) for Ariane 5G's third and last qualification flight is hoisted on top of the vehicle in the Launcher Integration Building (BIL) at Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana.
This mission (V112) was successfully conducted on October 21, 1998, carrying ESA's Atmospheric Reentry Demonstrator (ARD) capsule and the MaqSat 3 instrumented dummy satellite.
The VEB carries the launcher's avionics and the Attitude Control System providing both roll control for the whole launcher after separation of the booster stages and 3-axis control for the EPS through payload separation.
