Assembly of the Biofilms space hardware under sterile conditions. The hardware was developed by Kayser Italia for use on the International Space Station. The ESA Biofilms experiment in collaboration with the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the University of Saarland Biofilms, tests the antimicrobial properties of laser-structured metal surfaces such as steel, copper and brass under microgravity conditions.
