Espresso Education is a clear example of how an innovative concept developed and piloted in the context of the ESA Telecom initiative has been able to find its own way in the market.

Espresso Education, a United Kingdom based company, has the reputation of the number one Schools' Content Provider in Britain. The success of this initiative is proved by a dynamic and solid company which has now been in the market for four years and is used everyday by a very large number of schools in the UK.

The company won awards in two areas. Espresso's Poetry Workshop Learning Module, produced in partnership with the Barrow Community Learning Partnership won, in the category of Best Early Years and Primary Software. This category aims to recognise innovation and commitment in early years and primary educational content and tools marketing.

The Espresso for Primary Service won the other award in the area of Online Learning Resources which recognises the creativity, innovation and commitment of organisations or companies in developing high quality and effective learning resources deliverable online.

The only company to receive two awards at the event, Espresso CEO Lewis Bronze said: "We are truly grateful for this recognition from our industry peers."

Mr Owen Lynch, the Chief Executive of the British Educational Communications & Technology Agency, which represents the government's interests in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in schools, congratulated Espresso on "an excellent achievement against significant competition".

Espresso previously had won the BETT Award for Innovation in 2000. Chair of the judges Ray Barker of BESA (British Educational Suppliers Association an organizor of the event) commented that the standard of entries had been especially high this year.

Presented on 8 January 2004, the prestigious BETT Awards are intended to "reward excellence in ICT," showing the link between high quality ICT and effective educational practice.
