The project
The team is responsible for the structural design of the ESMO spacecraft. The structure has to provide interfaces towards launch vehicle, mechanical ground support equipment and all subsystems and payloads of ESMO. It needs to withstand the mechanical and thermal loads which ESMO is subjected to during its lifetime (ground handling, launch and on-orbit phases). Additionally, a low-mass structure has to be designed to minimize the total mass of the spacecraft.
