N° 11–2021: Call for Media: International experts meet the press at ESA’s European Space Debris Conference

Media representatives are invited to a virtual press briefing with international experts on Tuesday, 20 April, from 09:45-11:00 BST (10:45–12:00 CEST) to learn more about the current space debris situation and international efforts to tackle the problem.

The media briefing will take place in coordination with the ESA-hosted 8th European Conference on Space Debris, one of the world’s most important scientific and technical gatherings dedicated to this topic. Because of COVID-19, the four-day conference will take place virtually from 20–23 April 2021.

Programme Tuesday, 20 April

09:00–10:30 CEST: Opening session - 8th European Conference on Space Debris

10:45–12:00 CEST: Online media briefing

The experts will explain current issues and international efforts to tackle the space debris problem, and will answer questions from journalists.

Journalists are invited to register for the media briefing by 19 April via: https://www.esa.int/Contact/mediaregistration

Registered media will receive an email with details on how to join. The briefing will be in English.

Media who wish to follow a livestream of the daily highlight panels from the conference, to be held at 13:00 CEST on 20, 21, 22 and 23 April, may request free access to do so. Please either request this in the comment box of the registration form, or send a mail to media@esa.int.
