The distance between the ISS and the Earth is 400 kilometres. Depending on its orbit, it is possible to see the ISS at night.

Go to the website: http://www.esa.int/seeiss and find out when the ISS can be seen over your town. Note down the dates and look out for the ISS in the sky from your home with your parents. It is quite impressive!

The best moment to look at the ISS is just before dawn or shortly after dusk, because then the ISS is still illuminated by the Sun as we are in obscurity, it is like a shining star crossing the sky…
